HOW WE WORK

WE’RE ABOUT COMMUNITY. We are a community of volunteers who share information with each other and proudly represent our team through service, and we’re part of the global community of humans who care for animals and work to keep them safe.

WE’RE ABOUT CONNECTIONS. Think of us as more of a matchmaker and less as a cruise director. We don’t run our own tours or group trips; we partner with other animal welfare organizations and connect you with the partner that’s the best fit for you. Each volunteer is independent and travels on their own.

WE’RE ABOUT SUPPORT. We know that most vet techs have high salaries and lots of vacation time—oh wait, this is the real world. We’re excited to offer financial aid to qualified applicants whenever possible. And of course, we’re always here to answer questions, share our expertise, and connect you to others with first-hand experience.

COVID policy

VTWB requires all volunteers to have proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 7 days of your travel dates. COVID-19 and its evolving variants are still a serious concern in many parts of the world, and we remain mindful of the communities we serve who may not have access to vaccines or convenient medical care. If you have questions about our policy, feel free to email us for more details.
